SES 2020 only virtually (physical SES in Czechia in 2021)
We are sad to inform you that SES 2020 will not take place this year physically in the Czech Republic, as we planned. However, we are glad to inform you that it will happen – virtually and in the whole world!
The current pandemics does not allow SES 2020 to happen as usual, so we are preparing for you a special and unique virtual Esperanto school! For the first time in history, you will have the possibility to learn Esperanto in SES while staying at home! ☺
The plan is that this SES will take place from the 18th to the 26th of July 2020, and the lessons will happen on both weekends (with an additional, voluntary program between them, from Monday to Friday).
We are currently working hard about the details of this year’s online SES: about its form, dates, content and website. When we have more information, we will let you know!
Until then, stay healthy, learn and practice Esperanto and look forward to the virtual summer Esperanto events!
Remark: This whole coronavirus situation definitely doesn’t make anyone happy, but on the other hand, such a “virtual SES” could be even more international and accessible than the usual one! It won’t be necessary to travel far away, pay for accommodation and food, etc. So we hope that many of you will be able to participate – our teachers are already looking forward to you! And if you know people who could be interested in this kind of virtual SES, please let them know – the event can be appropriate for many people who cannot participate in usual SESes or traditional Esperanto events for various reasons (finances, lack of time, distance, etc.).

The Summer Esperanto Study ("SES") is an annual summer school that has been organised by E@I since 2007. The aim is to create a friendly, international environment every summer for people who would like to start or continue to learn Esperanto. At 8 days, SES is a little longer than most Esperanto events.
Summer Esperanto Study (SES 2020) will take place from July 18 to July 26, 2020.
SES 2020 will happen online. Because of the COVID-19 pandemic, it has not been possible to hold the event in Czechia as planned. We will provide the best international atmosphere that we can throughout the event at this difficult time.
Top quality teaching is certainly on the programme as usual, as well as a course on Esperanto literature, various talks, concerts, and more.
Unfortunately the usual programme of excursions, the wine tasting and the evening discotheque won't be happening, but we'll do our best to recreate the feeling of Esperantujo as best we can.
Somera Esperanto-Programado
This year, alongside the usual Esperanto classes, there will be a hackathon with the name Somera Esperanto-Programado (SEP). Further information is available in the dedicated website for SEP.
